The White House COVID-19 Response Team and public health officials deliver remarks as a federal advisory panel reviews the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Roughly 45 million Americans have received coronavirus vaccines since mid-December, but many, many more are eagerly awaiting access.

Johnson & Johnson’s version, which requires just one shot, is on track to become third vaccine allowed for use in U.S.

The Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, is expected to recommend J&J’s shot for use in adults, on Friday.

An emergency use authorization from the acting commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration is anticipated to follow within days.
