Roommates, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) just announced a list of updated guidelines to follow for those who have taken both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The CDC posted an in-depth video explaining its new guidelines for vaccinated Americans to adhere to.
The guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals include the ability to gather in small groups indoors without masks and visit low-risk unvaccinated people from a single household. However, continuing to wear masks and practice social distancing when in medium and large groups is strongly advised. Additionally, guidelines regarding travel remain unchanged.
During a recent press briefing, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky stated that “with more and more people vaccinated each day, we are starting to turn a corner.” She also said that the newly announced guidelines are a “first step” toward restoring a sense of normalcy to the general public.
Additionally, Dr. Walensky also revealed that more activities would be added to the list of acceptable things to do—once COVID-19 cases and death tolls begin to steadily decline, more Americans take the double dose of the vaccine and more information from science officials rolls in regarding the ability of those who have been vaccinated to potentially get and spread the virus.
The CDC’s updated guidelines come just after a handful of states have completely dismissed their mask mandates and moved forward with the decision to open their states fully to residents and visitors.
