Ind vs Eng 3rd Test: India beat England in just a span of two days; list of shortest-ever Test matches- India on Thursday defeated England in third Test to take 2-1 lead in the four-match Test series. The historic Test Day/night Test didn’t even took two days to complete. Earlier only one Test match had got over in 2 days in India. It was India vs Afganistan at Bengaluru in 2018.

The shortest ever Test match with a result was played between Australia vs South Africa in 1932.

With the win, India are a strong contender for the WTC final. All they need is a DRAW or WIN in the final Test at the same venue in order to play the final against New Zealand at Lord’s.

The hosts had dominated the Test match with the bowl on Day 1. Axar Patel-R Ashwin got the visitors out for 112 runs. But India also faltered in their 1st innings, they got bowled out for 145. Rohit Sharma’s 66 helped India get a lead of 33 runs. Joe Root took a rare fifer and Leach scalped four wickets.

But, Axar and Ashwin repeated their first innings success to get England bowled out for their lowest total against India (810. The spin-dup picked 19 wickets in the two innings against England.

India finally chased down the target in the final session of Day 2 to win the historic Pink-ball Test, keeping 100 per cent win record in the home Day/Night Test. England have lost all their Day/Night Tests away from home.
