ISL 2021 Finals – ATK Mohun Bagan vs Mumbai City FC: ATK Mohun Bagan has reached the Indian Super League final after getting past North East United FC in the second semifinal at the Fatorda Stadium on Tuesday. Mohun Bagan will meet ISL Shield winner Mumbai City FC in the final at the same venue on Saturday.
David Williams and Manvir Singh struck in each half as ATKMB beat NEUFC 2-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate.
VP Suhair pulled a goal back in the 74th minute but Luis Machado missed a huge opportunity to equalise when he blazed over a penalty kick in the 83rd minute.

After holding ATKMB to a 1-1 draw in the first leg through a stoppage-time strike from Idrissa Sylla, the Highlanders had received a lifeline. With no away goal rules this time around, NorthEast still had a chance of making it to their first-ever final. They have reached the semifinal stage once — in 2018 — but failed to cross the hurdle losing against Bengaluru FC. But ATK Mohun Bagan dashed those hopes as they won 2-1 tonite.

ATK Mohun Bagan’s coach Antonio Habas: The team had a good character today. The team, in the first 45 minutes, was a lot of superior to the opponent and maybe we had chances to score 2-3 goals. I think the team absolutely deserves to be in the final.
ATK Mohun Bagan’s Roy Krishna on Manvir Singh: He’s a very quick learner. His attitude in training is great and all credit goes to him. He takes our advice and shows it on the field. he is a good kid and always listens to experienced players.
[On facing Mumbai City in the final] The last time we were not up to it. It will be a different mind game this time and we will be up to it from the first minute.
ATK Mohun Baagn’s David Williams: It was a very satisfying win. We worked five months for this without fans and without our families. It’s been a difficult difficult situation to come all this way an d we can’t give up. We kept going and were disappointed two weeks ago but the whole squad dug in deep today. This guy (Krishna) keeps giving to the tean. Everyone did really well and the defence was strong as well.
