R Ashwin set to surpass C Ambrose, Kapil Dev and BS Bedi
Ravichandran Ashwin, who became the only third bowler to take 400-wickets in Tests, is on brink of breaking yet another record. He is just four wickets away to go past C Ambrose’s record (405).
The 34-year-old can also go past the legendary Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi if he takes 6 wickets in the upcoming fixture. Kapil has 85 wickets against England. Anil Kumble has 92 wickets against England.
R Ashwin’s batting record
The allrounder can go past Syed Kirmani’ s score of 2759 runs (88 Tests). Ashwin has so far scored 2643 runs in 77 Tests.
Virat Kohli to break Ricky Ponting’s record
Skipper Virat needs a century to break Ricky Ponting’s record of most centuries as captain. The two-time World Cup winner has 41 hundreds as a skipper across all formats. Besides this, Kohli will equal Ponting in a number of Test tons as skipper.

Kohli is just 12 runs behind England skipper Joe Root to lead the run-scoring tally among current skipper in India vs England battle.
Kohli to equal MS Dhoni’s record
Virat Kohli will equal MS Dhoni’s record in the final Ind vs Eng Test. MS Dhoni has appeared in 60 Tests as captain for India, most by an India skipper.
Pujara likely to complete 1,500 runs
Cheteshwar Pujara is only 45 runs behind to become the seventh batsman to score 1,500 runs against England. He can also go past Dilip Vengserkar’s record of 1,589 runs against England.

India batsman Rohit Sharma is only 56 runs behind FM Engineer. The swashbuckling Indian opener was the top scorer of the last Test, scoring 66 runs in the first innings.
Ishant Sharma, who played his 100th Test last week, needs just eight wickets to go past former India pacer Zaheer Khan’s record (311 Test wickets).
The England captain Joe Root can go past former skipper Michael Vaughan’s record of most Test victories for England (26).
